Five patients including four senior citizens have recovered from coronavirus in western Turkey.
In a statement, Dokuz Eylul Hospital in Izmir province said the patients aged 70, 71 and 91 were discharged after a month of treatment.
All three patients had similar complaints of shortness of breath when they were admitted to hospital, Dr. Semih Kucukguclu said.
Meanwhile, a man aged 92 and a woman aged 46 were discharged from the hospital amid applause in Manisa province after 18 days of treatment.
Turkey currently has 117,589 coronavirus cases, while the death toll in the country stands at 3,081. A total of 44,040 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus.
Since first appearing China last December, the novel coronavirus has spread to at least 185 countries and regions, with the US and Europe the hardest-hit areas.
More than 3.2 million cases have been reported worldwide, with the death toll nearing 228,000 and over 985,000 recoveries, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University in the US.
