Number of coronavirus cases in Lebanon rises to 77
Lebanese Health Ministry confirms 4 more cases on Friday
ISTANBUL
Four new cases of coronavirus in Lebanon were reported Friday, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 77, the Health Ministry announced.
The country has reported three deaths from the virus so far.
Lebanon registered the first coronavirus-related mortality on Tuesday.
After emerging in Wuhan, China last December, the virus, officially known as COVID-19, has spread to at least 123 countries and territories.
The global death toll is now nearly 5,000, with more than 132,000 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization, which has declared the outbreak a “global pandemic.”
