Badminton World Federation cancels 2 events over virus

ANKARA

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced on Tuesday that it canceled two tournament scheduled for this year over fears of coronavirus.

"Two BWF Tour Super 100 tournaments have been canceled from the revamped BWF Tournament Calendar for the year – the Lingshui China Masters 2020 and YONEX Dutch Open 2020," the BWF said in a statement.

The Lingshui China Masters 2020 was rescheduled twice previously from its original slot at the start of the year, from Feb. 25 to March 1.

The tournament initially was postponed to May first and then to August due to the pandemic.

Also, the YONEX Dutch Open was due to take place between Oct. 6 and 11 in Almere, the Netherlands.
