GENEVA
There are a total of 10,141 cases of the Ebola virus disease, of which 4,922 have been fatal, mostly from West Africa, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Saturday.
"A total of 10,141 confirmed, probable and suspected cases of the Ebola virus disease have been reported in six affected countries -- Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, Spain, and the U.S. -- and two previously affected countries Nigeria and Senegal up to the end of October 23," the WHO said in a statement.
A total of 10,114 cases of Ebola and 4,912 deaths were reported in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.
The WHO also said a total of 450 healthcare workers have been infected with the virus, of which 244 have been fatal.
