Alan Browne tests positive for COVID-19 after playing against England on Thursday's friendly game
ISTANBUL
Irish football player Alan Browne tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the Football Association of Ireland announced on Friday.
"There are no close contacts of the player and the rest of the staff & squad tested negative ahead of Sunday's UEFA Nations League against Wales in Cardiff," it said on Twitter.
Browne played during the whole game against England on Thursday.
Ireland lost to England with a 3-0 score in the exhibition game.
The 25-year-old is currently playing for England's second division side Preston North End.
