Eco-anxiety is defined as a psychological response to environmental threats.

Feelings of anxiety, fear or uncertainty about the future stemming from individuals’ awareness regarding climate change and other environmental threats are described as eco-anxiety.

Affected age groups

Eco-anxiety can be observed in all age groups, but it is observed more frequently among young people.

Coping strategies

Some ways to cope with eco-anxiety include:

- Recognizing and accepting emotions.

- Considering small, achievable actions for change and taking part in collective efforts.

- Spending time in nature, which supports mental well-being alongside environmental awareness.

- Increasing knowledge about the environmental issues causing concern by reading relevant books to raise awareness.
