US Secretary of State, Saudi foreign minister discuss regional issues
Ukraine and Russia talks, stabilization in Syria and situation in Gaza among topics, according to State Department

WASHINGTON
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud held a phone call to discuss regional issues, the State Department said Monday.
They "discussed Ukraine and Russia talks, stabilization in Syria, and the situation in Gaza," spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a statement.
Rubio also thanked Bin Farhan for Saudi Arabia's hospitality during President Donald Trump's visit, she added.
Trump held his first-ever summit with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa last month in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
He also announced during the 2025 Saudi-US Investment Forum that he would order the removal of “brutal and crippling” US sanctions on Syria to give that country “a chance at greatness.”
