ANKARA
Four suspects detained over an attack on the leader of Turkey's main opposition party were released late Monday by a court in Ankara on judicial control.
The suspects, including a woman, had been taken into custody for allegedly throwing stones at the official car of Kemal Kilicdaroglu, head of the Republican People's Party (CHP), while he was attending a soldier’s funeral Sunday in the Cubuk district of the capital, Ankara.
After the attack, Kilicdaroglu was taken to a nearby house until an armored vehicle was sent to pick him up under protection of security forces.
A total of nine suspects have reportedly been detained over the attack.
