Tony Blair, Jared Kushner briefing Trump on post-Gaza plan: Report
White House guarded on providing details on publicly acknowledged meeting

WASHINGTON
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, are briefing the US president on ideas for Gaza's post-war future, according to a report published Wednesday.
Steve Witkoff, Trump's special envoy, confirmed that a meeting would take place on Wednesday, but the White House has been guarded on providing details.
"President Trump has been clear that he wants the war to end, and he wants peace and prosperity for everyone in the region. The White House has nothing additional to share on the meeting at this time," a White House official said ahead of the meeting.
The Axios news website reported that Kushner and Blair are presenting Trump with their "day-after" plan, which it said includes proposals for governance in Gaza without Hamas remaining in power. Anonymous US officials said the men would also discuss efforts to ramp up humanitarian aid in Gaza, where a famine is rapidly spreading.
Israel’s full blockade of the Gaza Strip, in place since early March, has created catastrophic conditions for the enclave’s 2.4 million residents, leading to famine, widespread disease and the collapse of essential services. Over 62,000 Palestinians have been killed.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its war on the enclave.
