Russia’s Valery Gerasimov, NATO’s Tod Wolters exchanged opinions on global stability, regional crises
MOSCOW
Russia’s military chief and NATO’s top commander in Europe met in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku on Thursday to discuss issues pertaining to global stability and regional crises.
Russia’s Valery Gerasimov and NATO’s Tod Wolters discussed steps to prevent any military clash, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement following the meeting.
“The military leaders exchanged opinions on issues of strategic stability, the situation in crisis regions of the world, and also discussed practical steps on the military line in order to prevent incidents caused by the military activities of the parties,” it said.
Russia and NATO established relations in 1991 within the framework of the North Atlantic Cooperation Council.
