NATO has given permission to Israel to open an office at its headquarters in Brussels.
According to an official statement issued by NATO on Wednesday, member countries will also recognize an Israeli ambassador who will head-up the permanent office.
Israel is not a member of NATO bloc but it has been member of the organization’s Mediterranean Dialogue since 1994.
This was initiated in 1994 by the North Atlantic Council. It currently involves seven non-NATO countries of the Mediterranean region: Algeria; Egypt; Israel; Jordan; Mauritania; Morocco and Tunisia.
