An overwhelming majority of Polish citizens oppose the US-Israel attack on Iran, with half seeing the Middle East conflict as a threat to Poland’s security, a survey showed on Tuesday.

A recent CBOS survey found that 77% of respondents said the decision by the US and Israel to attack Iran was wrong, including 51% who said it was “definitely” wrong, Polish news agency PAP reported.

According to the survey, only 8% said the decision was “right.”

“The belief that the United States and Israel’s decision to attack Iran was wrong dominates across all analyzed demographic and social groups,” CBOS said.

When asked whether the US-Israel conflict with Iran threatened Poland’s security, 49% said “yes,” including 16% who answered “definitely yes.”

The survey also found overwhelming support for the Polish government’s announcement that it would not send troops to Iran, with 89% expressing support for the decision.

The region has been on alert since the US and Israel launched an air offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damaging infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
