French police arrested Monday afternoon a man after a high-speed car chase on the runway at Lyon airport in southeast France, local authorities said.
The chase forced authorities at the Lyon Saint-Exupery Airport to close runways and halt flights "until further notice".
Nobody was injured in the incident.
The man had smashed through a security barrier at Lyon-Bron business airport before driving onto the runway. He was arrested after trying to flee on foot.
His motives and identity have yet to be established.
