The London event of the Diamond League athletics meeting was canceled due to the coronavirus, the British Athletics announced on Tuesday.
The eighth edition of the 2020 Muller Anniversary Games was scheduled for July 4-5 at London Stadium.
“The decision has been made in light of the ongoing global pandemic,” the British Athletics said on its website, citing the safety of all athletes, coaches, volunteers, spectators and staff.
UK Athletics CEO Joanna Coates expressed “huge disappointment” over the cancelation of the event.
“… we must place the safety of the entire athletics family at the forefront of every decision we make during these unprecedented times and ensure we are following Government advice,” he added.
