Lavrov, Maas discuss Ukrainian crisis via telephone

MOSCOW

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed Ukrainian settlement with his German counterpart Heiko Maas in a telephone talk Thursday.

The two ministers stressed the need to prompt sides of the Ukrainian conflict to implement decisions made at the last summit of the Normandy Four -- Germany, France, Russia, Ukraine -- in Paris last December, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Lavrov drew attention to concrete examples of unconstructive actions by Kiev authorities that hinder the full implementation of the Minsk Package of Measures," it said.

They agreed to continue talks at a virtual meeting of the Normandy Four foreign ministers at a later undetermined date.

Lavrov and Maas also addressed issues related to the fight against coronavirus pandemic and agreed on the need to unite international community efforts to stem its spread.
