Heavy rainfall caused flooding in Cannes, France, the municipality said on Monday.

“Intense storms, occasionally accompanied by hail, are underway in our area,” it said on X, calling on everyone to “stay informed and be vigilant when traveling.”

Multiple areas, including Mimont Street, Sector Commander Maria and Lower Avenue of Marechal Gallieni, “are closed to traffic due to heavy runoff and very difficult traffic conditions,” the statement noted.

“Damage has been reported in some cellars and shops in République,” the municipality said, adding: “There are no victims or injuries at this time.”

“The situation is returning to normal,” it said.
