Terror suspect Daniel Abed Khalife, who earlier this week escaped from a London prison, has been arrested in Chiswick following a 75-hour UK-wide manhunt.

"Officers apprehended him just before 11 a.m. today in the Chiswick area, and he is currently in police custody," the Metropolitan Police said on Saturday.

Khalife, 21, is accused of planting fake bombs at a military base. He was held at HMP Wandsworth prison in southwest London awaiting trial for terrorism and Official Secrets Act violations.

He was believed to be working in the prison kitchen and wearing a chef's uniform while escaping.

More than 150 officers and staff were involved in the search for Khalife, who escaped from the prison kitchen on Wednesday by strapping himself to the bottom of a food delivery van.

On Friday, the Metropolitan Police announced a reward of up to £20,000 (approximately $25,000) for information leading to the arrest of the fugitive.
