Four people have been killed in floods that have hit France in recent days, Prime Minister Manuel Valls said Saturday.

Another 24 were injured in flooding caused by heavy rain. According to the Interior Ministry, thousands have been evacuated from their homes and nearly a hundred roads closed.

As the River Seine rose to its highest level in the past three decades, Paris’ Louvre and Orsay museums were temporarily closed.

Insurers have said the deluge has cost more than 600 million euros ($682 million). More heavy rain is forecast.
