The European Commission opened on Wednesday applications for free Europe-wide rail passes to young people from EU states and other Erasmus+ members, including Türkiye.
The EU executive body announced in a statement that it launched the spring call of the DiscoverEU program, granting free 30-day rail passes to 35,000 young people to explore Europe.
The 18-year-olds from EU member states and other countries participating in the Erasmus+ program, such as Türkiye, Serbia, North Macedonia, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein, can win the pass.
The successful candidates can travel for free for up to 30 days in Europe between June 15 and Sept. 30.
The application is open until March 29 on the youth.europa.eu/discovereu_en website.
Since 2018, as many as 212,700 young people have traveled across Europe under the DiscoverEU program.
