A Turkish-born Dutch lawmaker was released after being detained by Israeli forces in Jerusalem on Friday.
Tunahan Kuzu, the founding member of pro-migrant political party Denk in the Netherlands, was detained by a group of Israeli police and soldiers on his way to the Al-Aqsa Mosque with the Palestinian flag, the party said in a statement.
The statement said that the Israeli forces confiscated the Palestinian flag Kuzu was holding on to.
The party stated that the members of the parliament had attended the memorial day of Nakba and had met representatives of some non-governmental organizations to hold records and talk about the situation in the region.
Later, Kuzu announced in a Twitter post that he was set free.
"I am free now and one-day #Palestine will also be free! Thnx for all support!," Kuzu wrote on Twitter.
