ZAGREB, Croatia
Farmers in Croatia protested inequality Thursday by bringing watermelons to the entrance of a government building.
As ministers entered the Banski dvori building, a group of farmers with a small vehicle piled the fruits at the entrance to draw attention to inequality farmers are experiencing.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said adequate security measures were not taken at the entrance to the building.
“We will act like other countries on democracy and security, but these are not situations encountered in other countries,” said Plenkovic, as he ordered Interior Minister Davor Bzinovic to solve the security problem.
