BERLIN
About a thousand people who had gathered Sunday in Berlin were not allowed to demonstrate in solidarity with Palestinians.
Police asked protesters in Potsdamer Platz to leave the square on the grounds that such demonstrations were banned based on a previous decision.
There were occasional clashes between the demonstrators and police.
Police detained several protesters who resisted.
