2 killed as tornado hits Italy
At least 20 injured as twister tears through towns near Rome

ROME
Two people were killed when a tornado touched down near here, the ANSA news agency said Monday.
The tornado late Sunday hit Ladispoli, a coastal town northwest of Rome, where an unidentified foreigner was killed after being trapped under debris for a building's external wall.

At least 20 others were injured in the storm that also toppled trees in Ladispoli and nearby towns.
The tornado was the latest in a series of natural disasters to recently hit Italy.
No fatalities were reported last week in earthquakes in the central region of Marche and Norcia -- a town in Perugia.
Nearly 300 victims were killed in August when a quake hit central Italy.
