Four people were killed and seven others injured in overnight Russian strikes on Ukraine, Ukrainian officials said Saturday.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russia struck an industrial enterprise in Kamianske, killing four people and injuring five others, Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said on Telegram.
In the Kyiv region, two people were injured in an attack on Boryspil, Governor Timur Tkachenko said on Telegram.
Tkachenko said efforts were underway to assess and address the consequences of the strike on a nine-story residential building.
The Ukrainian Air Force said on Telegram that 128 Russian drones were shot down overnight.
Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry said that its forces struck two of Ukraine's largest suppliers of metal products for the military in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The ministry said Russian forces also struck logistics centers, a dry cargo ship, two fuel storage and distribution facilities and an electronic intelligence center in the Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kyiv regions.
It also said Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 53 Ukrainian drones across Russia, annexed Crimea and over the Black Sea.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday that Kyiv “will ensure the normal functioning of Russian airspace” during an expected visit to Moscow by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
“We are looking out for them, not for Russia,” Zelenskyy wrote on US social media platform X.
“There will be no air strikes from our side, and Russia must do the same, ensuring there are no air strikes from its side for the time needed to hold these talks and handle the logistical matters related to this American visit,” he added.
Axios news website and Russian state news agency Tass reported, citing sources, that the two US envoys will visit Moscow and Kyiv over the weekend.
Witkoff and Kushner have never visited Kyiv, while both have made several trips to Moscow since US-mediated talks began.
Their latest visit was on Jan. 22, when they met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.
