Turkish gasoline prices rose by around 0.15 per liter on Wednesday with increasing crude oil prices and the rising value of the U.S. dollar against the Turkish lira.
In the Turkish capital Ankara, 95-octane unleaded gasoline will now be sold at 4.83 to 4.85 liras per liter.
The price of gasoline has increased to 4.82 to 4.84 liras per liter in Izmir, and from 4.81 to 4.84 liras per liter in Istanbul.
The rise in gasoline prices has come after the historic gain of the U.S. dollar against the Turkish lira on Monday.
The value of the greenback, of which the oil prices are indexed to, jumped to a record high above 2.80 Turkish liras, before settling down to 2.75 Turkish liras on Tuesday.
Moreover, the price of the global benchmark Brent crude oil rose almost four percent on Tuesday to climb above $65 per barrel.
High oil prices affect energy importing countries like Turkey negatively, while the rising value of the U.S. dollar weakens the purchasing power of economies that are dependent on crude oil imports.
