Rating agency Standard & Poor’s lowered Eni’s long-term corporate credit rating to 'BBB+' from 'A-' with negative implications, according to the company's announcement on Thursday.
In addition, Standard & Poor’s confirmed an 'A-2' short term credit rating for Eni.
The rating action has been adopted mainly following the reduction of oil prices which Standard & Poor’s has taken into consideration in its evaluations.
Eni S.p.A. is an Italian multinational oil and gas company headquartered in Rome. It has operations in 79 countries.
