NEW YORK
Wall Street closed higher Thursday with gains in U.S. tech companies' stocks.
The Dow rose seven points to end the day at 20,982 and the S&P added 1 point to 2,388.
The Nasdaq increased 23 points to finish the day at 6,048 -- a new record.
Social media company Twitter saw its stock price rise 4.9 percent a share, while media streaming giant Netflix shares gained 2 percent.
