ISTANBUL
The US’ trade deficit hit $80.2 billion in November, up from $67.2 billion in October.
According to official figures on Thursday, the country’s exports and imports reached $224.2 billion (up $0.4 billion) and $304.4 billion (up $13.4 billion), respectively, month on month in November.
"The November increase in the goods and services deficit reflected an increase in the goods deficit of $15.1 billion to $99.0 billion and an increase in the services surplus of $2.1 billion to $18.8 billion," read the US Department of Commerce’s statement.
According to the figures, the US posted a bilateral trade deficit of $19.4 billion with the EU, up $2.8 billion month-on-month in November.
The US’s exports to the EU rose by $0.5 billion to $24.4 billion while imports from the union increased by $2.2 billion to $43.8 billion.
