US consumer confidence index revised down in September

All sub-indexes post declines in September

ISTANBUL

The consumer confidence index, measured by the University of Michigan in the US, was revised down by 3.1 points to 55.1 in September.

The preliminary reading for this month was 55.4 for September, the university recalled, while it was at 58.2 in August.

The current economic conditions index decreased by 1.3 points in September to 60.4.

The consumer expectations index, which reflects consumers' long-term expectations, decreased by 4.2 points to 51.7 during the same period.

Consumers' short-term inflation expectations fell from 4.8% to 4.7% in September. Long-term inflation expectations rose from 3.5% to 3.7% during the same period.
