Türkiye's BIST 100 index opens Friday with record high
Benchmark index gains 29.84 points at opening bell
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the last trading day of the week at a new all-time high of 12,486.53 points, up 0.24%, or 29.84 points, from the previous close.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 gained 0.7% to close at a previous record high of 12,456.69 points, with a daily transaction volume of 176 billion Turkish liras ($4.07 billion).
As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.2785 liras to the US dollar, 50.2240 to the euro, and 57.8970 to the British pound.
The price of an ounce of gold was $4,598.90, while Brent crude oil was trading at $63.15 per barrel.
