Turkish stocks up at open
BIST 100 index rises 341.27 points from Thursday's close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands around 5.86
ANKARA
Turkey's benchmark stock index started Friday up 0.38% or 341.27 points to open at 90,842.75 points.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 2.27% to close at 90,501.48 points with a daily trading volume of 5.14 billion Turkish liras ($880 million).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.8640 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared to 5.8690 at Thursday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6,6030, versus 6.6060, and one British pound traded for 7.4290 Turkish liras, compared to 7.4630.
One barrel of Brent oil sold for $61.49 as of 9.50 a.m. local time (0650GMT) on Friday.
