ANKARA
Turkey's benchmark stock index went down 1.36% to close Tuesday at 92,825.57 points.
After starting the day at 94,339.53 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 1,277.51 points from 94,103.07 points at Monday's close.
During Tuesday's trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 92,654.25 points and 94,589.29 points -- 17 stocks on the index rose, 69 fell, and 14 were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of nearly 615 billion Turkish liras ($106 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 6.69 billion Turkish liras ($1.15 billion).
One ounce of gold sold for $1,322.30 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,328.20 at Monday's close.
The price of Brent oil was $62.21 per barrel as of 7.45 p.m. local time (1645GMT) on Tuesday -- with a day range of $62.02 to $62.88.
At the beginning of 2019, a barrel of Brent oil sold for around $53.
