The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 9,448.90 points, up 3.36% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 9,419.14, gained 307.59 points from the close on Monday.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,302.93, while the daily high was 9,483.05.

As many as 91 indexes gained in value, while 8 closed the day with losses.

The total transaction volume reached 120.6 billion Turkish liras ($3 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.6 trillion liras ($216.7 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 39.6120 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 46.1210, and the GBP/TRY traded at 54.0410.

The price of gold was $3,306.10 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $67.05.
