Turkish stock exchange opens Thursday up

ISTANBUL 

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 9,276.21 points, up 0.11% or 10.12 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 1.36% to close at 9,266.09 points, with a daily transaction volume of 90.7 billion Turkish liras (approximately $2.37 billion).

As of 10 am (0700GMT), the price of one ounce of gold was $3,328.60, after hitting an all-time high of $3,357.81 as the investors rushed to the "safe haven" asset on worries and uncertainties caused by the tariff issue globally.

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 38.1375, the EUR/TRY rate stood at 43.6260, and the GBP/TRY traded at 50.4505.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $65.55 per barrel.
