Turkish stock exchange opens Friday on high note

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the last trading day of the week at 10,966.50 points, up 0.10%, or 10.45 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose 0.5% to close at 10,956.05 points, with a daily transaction volume of 120 billion Turkish liras ($2.96 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 40.6820 liras to the US dollar, 47.4340 to the euro, and 54.6715 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,391.05, while Brent crude oil was trading at $65.65 per barrel.
