Turkish stock exchange ends Tuesday in the red
Benchmark BIST 100 index loses 30.85 points at closing session
ISTANBUL
The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 10,857.17 points, down 0.28% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 10,928.23, declined 30.85 points from the close on Monday.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 10,832.82, while the daily high was 10,998.20.
A total of 59 indexes lost in value, while 38 closed the day with gains.
The total transaction volume reached 155.9 billion Turkish liras ($3.67 billion), while the overall value of the index was 10.19 trillion liras ($240.6 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 42.4300 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 49.1985, and the GBP/TRY traded at 55.9890.
The price of gold was $4,127.15 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $61.15.
