Turkish stock exchange ends Tuesday in red
Benchmark BIST 100 index down 413.03 points in closing session
ISTANBUL
The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 12,933.40 points, down 3.09% from the previous close.
After starting the day at 13,296.03, the BIST 100 index fell 413.03 points from its close on Monday, amid continuing conflict in the Middle East.
The low point for the index during the day was 12,905.50, while the daily high was 13,380.04.
A total of 79 indexes lost value, while 20 closed in the green.
The transaction volume hit 162.6 billion Turkish liras ($3.7 billion), while the overall value of the index was 12.73 trillion liras ($290.2 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 43.9795 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 50.8260, and the GBP/TRY traded at 58.3805.
The price of gold was $5,040.45 per ounce, while Brent crude was $83.15.
