Turkish stock exchange begins Tuesday flat

ISTANBUL 

Türkiye's benchmark stock opened Tuesday at 10,858.67 points, slightly up 0.05% or 5.23 points.

On Monday, the BIST 100 was down 0.81% at 10,853.43 points, with a daily transaction volume of 124 billion Turkish liras ($2.95 billion).


Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index will close early on Tuesday for the observance of the Republic Day holiday on Oct. 29. It will also stay closed on Wednesday.

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 41.9495 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.9095 to the euro, and 56.0135 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,943.55, while Brent crude oil was trading at $64.75 per barrel.
