Turkish stock exchange begins Thursday up
BIST 100 index gains over 94 points at opening session
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 13,502.29, up 0.71%, or 94.85 points.
On Wednesday, the BIST 100 climbed 2.29% to close at a record high of 13,407.44 points, with a daily transaction volume of 240.8 billion Turkish liras ($5.54 billion).
As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.4240 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 52.1530 to the euro, and 60.2225 to the British pound.
The price of an ounce of gold was $5,569.80, while Brent crude oil was trading at $68.25 per barrel.
