Turkish stock exchange begins Thursday down

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 11,352.46, down 0.14% or 17.43 points.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 decreased by 0.13% to close at 12,369.89 points, with a daily transaction volume of 179.2 billion Turkish liras ($4.15 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.1895 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 50.3705 to the euro, and 58.1275 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,608.70, while Brent crude oil was trading at $64.25 per barrel.
