ANTALYA
Turkish-German airline company SunExpress has received the first plane of a 50-strong Boeing fleet it has ordered in 2014.
The Antalya-based company has said in a statement that the first ordered plane arrived in Antalya on Sunday.
SunExpress reached a $4.75 billion agreement with Boeing last year and ordered 50 new-generation Boing 737-800 NG and Boing 737-8 Max craft.
SunExpress said in the statement that the company will receive five planes during 2015.
All 50 ordered Boeing planes – which burn less fuel, produce lower emissions and noise, will be handed over to SunExpress by 2021.
SunExpress, founded in October 1989 as a subsidiary of two industry leading airlines Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, carries around seven million passengers per year and has a 59-aircraft fleet.
