ANKARA
Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz will visit Moscow to attend the thirteenth Turkey- Russia Joint Economic Commission meeting on Wednesday.
According to official sources from the Turkish Energy Ministry, Yildiz will meet his Russian counterpart Alexander Novak during his visit.
Yildiz is expected to discuss the decrease of gas supplies through the West Line gas pipeline which delivers Russian gas to Turkey via Ukraine. Last week, Yildiz said Russian natural gas volumes from the West Line to Turkey had fallen by 40 percent.
Another topic of discussion will be the capacity increase of the Blue Stream pipeline, which carries Russian gas to Turkey via the Black Sea. Turkey and Russian energy giant Gazprom had agreed in October to increase the capacity of the pipeline.
