ANKARA
Turkish Science, Industry and Technology Minister Nihat Ergun met his Ugandan counterpart Amelia Anne Kymabadde in Ankara.
Kyambadde stated that her visit to Turkey was very fruitful and she had the opportunity to see different sectors.
Stating that she found the organized industrial sites in Turkey quite interesting, Kyambadde stated that they tried the similar system in Uganda as well but they had many difficulties in operating it. Kyambadde also stated that she got some ideas from the visit to overcome these difficulties.
Kyambadde said that Turkey took two important steps following the initiation of joint economic commission, one of them was the direct flight from Turkey to Uganda which takes 5 hours by plane and the second was the efforts to improve bilateral commercial relations.
On the other hand, speaking at the meeting Science, Industry and Technology Minister Ergun stated that the two countries have the potential to develop relations in different fields.
Ergun also stated that Turkey is ready to cooperate with Uganda in applying the organized industrial sites model in Uganda.
