ISTANBUL
Turkey's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 100,028.69 points, increasing 0.45% or 444.87 points.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose by 0.92% to close the day at 99,583.82 points with a daily trading volume of 5.47 billion Turkish liras ($987 million).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 5.5070 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, from 5.5240 on Tuesday.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.1720, versus 6.1740, and one British pound traded for 6.7060 Turkish liras, compared to 6.7480 at Tuesday's close.
One barrel of Brent oil was sold for around $58.80 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.
