Turkey's Borsa Istanbul starts Tuesday up

ANKARA

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,165.12 points on Tuesday, up 0.38% or 4.41 points from the previous close.

At Monday's close, BIST 100 ended the day up 1.37% to close at 1,160.71 points, with a daily trading volume of 15.1 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 7.7630 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 7.7670 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also fell to 9.1470 from 9.1540, while one British pound traded for 10.1040 Turkish liras, up from 10.1010.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $41.51 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
