ANKARA
Turkey has granted over 45,768 work permIts to foreigners who have come to work in Turkey in 2013, according to Turkish Labor and Social Security Ministry.
The work permits are granted to foreigners who want to work at a specified place and occupation in Turkey.
The ministry said that the foreigners were employed mostly in babysitting, nursing and households services.
Overall the ministry received 53,227 work-permit applications but only approved 45,768 applicants to work in Turkey.
In terms of the nationalities who were granted visas to come to work in Turkey: Georgians ranked the highest with 8,431 work permits; Ukrainians came second with 3,611; Chinese, 2,981, Turkmens, 2,712; and Russia.
