Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 1,407.46 points on Wednesday, up 1.58% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,393.25 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 21.85 points from Tuesday's close of 1,385.61 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,777.70 by market close, up from $1,769.90 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 1.8% to $75.68 per barrel as of 6.43 p.m. local time (1543GMT).
