Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 1,394.37 points on Monday, down 0.51% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,402.73 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 7.09 points from Friday’s close of 1,401.46 points.

The index’s lowest value during the day was 1,394.37 points, while its daily high was 1,407.84 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.1 trillion Turkish liras ($124 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of over 12.24 billion Turkish liras ($1.38 billion).

A total of 33 stocks on the index rose, 56 fell, and 11 remained unchanged compared to Friday’s close.

The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and oil refiner Tupras.

Shares of cement producer Akcansa performed the best, rising 7.66%, while stocks of waste-to-energy firm Biotrend dropped the most, 10%.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,752.95 by market close, down from $1,756.10 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 3% to $81.69 per barrel as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT).
