ISTANBUL

Moroccan industry minister has said that Turkey had a key role in the region.

Speaking to AA correspondent, Morocco's Industry, Trade, & New Technologies Minister Abdelkader Amara said, "Turkey has a key role to play in the region. This has two reasons: One of them is Turkey is regional economic power and the other is Turkey can be presented as a model."
Amara said that Turkey had a great role in the region with Arab Spring and global economic crisis.
Turkey has achieved a great progress in the past decade, he said, adding that Arab countries would benefit from Turkey's experiences in economy.
Replying to a question, Amara said that he was also on board a Gaza-bound aid flotilla that was attacked by Israeli soldiers in May 2010, stating that there were people from several countries on board with humane purposes. "We only exerted efforts for lifting of blockade on Gaza," he said.
But the attack was military one and every kind of weapon was used by Israeli soldiers, he said.
