AI company OpenAI, owner of ChatGPT, announced that it has received $110 billion in new investment at a valuation of $730 billion, with participation from SoftBank, Nvidia, and Amazon.
In a statement on Friday from OpenAI, it was noted that demand for AI is rapidly increasing among consumers, developers, and businesses.
The statement noted that meeting this demand requires computing power, distribution, and capital, and reported that the company has received new investments.
The statement provided that $30 billion of this investment came from SoftBank, $30 billion from Nvidia, and $50 billion from Amazon.
The statement also mentioned that the company signed a strategic partnership agreement with Amazon and that Nvidia provided new-generation inference capacity.
The statement indicated that other financial investors are expected to join the process as the investment round progresses.
On Friday, OpenAI also released a joint statement with Microsoft to announce that two firms will work closely across research, engineering, and product development, building on years of deep collaboration and shared success.
